Delete Account & Personal Data

Request permanent deletion of your TripYatra account and personal data collected via our app and website.

Heads-up: Deletion is irreversible. Active bookings, wallet/Trip Cash, referral history, and saved items will be removed as described below. Legally required records may be retained for the mandated period.

How to request deletion

  1. From your registered email: send an email to support@tripyatra.com with the subject “TripYatra Data Deletion Request”. Include registered email/phone, full name, and (optional) user/booking IDs.
  2. Via the TripYatra app: ProfileSettingsLegal & InfoDelete account / data (opens this page).
  3. Facebook sign-in users: You can request here or through Facebook settings; if we receive a Facebook deletion callback, we process it the same way.

What we delete

  • Profile details (name, photo), contact data (email, phone), app preferences.
  • Social / single-sign-on identifiers (Google/Facebook) stored in your account.
  • Saved places, wishlists, recently viewed items, and marketing preferences.

What may be retained (required)

  • Booking & tax records for completed/cancelled trips (audit/chargeback/fraud prevention).
  • Transaction traces with payment gateways (Razorpay/Cashfree) and invoices required by law.
  • Security logs (limited) to protect our platform.

Where retention is required, we minimize, restrict access, and delete once the period ends.

Before you request

  • Close or complete any active bookings.
  • Use remaining Trip Cash / wallet balance. Promotional credits are not refundable.
  • Download invoices you may need later.

Verification & timeline

Identity check
We verify via a code sent to your registered email/phone. Partners may be asked for GST/PAN or bank proof.
Processing time
Typically 7–30 days after successful verification; complex cases (chargebacks/fraud holds) may take longer.
Reversal window
You can cancel the request within 7 days if finalization hasn’t occurred.

Wallet, Trip Cash & refunds

Wallet/Trip Cash: once deletion is finalized, the wallet is closed. Where regulation requires and funds are eligible, refundable balances tied to completed payments may be processed to the original payment method (net of fees/chargebacks). Promotional credits/cashbacks are not refundable.

Open refunds: deletion may be delayed until in-progress refunds settle.

For partners/hosts

  • Ensure all hotels/tours/activities/rentals/cars are completed and earnings settled.
  • Payout/tax invoices are retained as legally required.
  • Listings/reviews/stats will be unlinked from personal identifiers.
